C. CHASE SMITH
Chase, a native of Waco, joined the firm in 2018. His practice focuses on commercial and business matters with a specific emphasis on establishing corporate structures for businesses and entrepreneurs targeted at reducing personal liability and protecting assets. Chase enjoys creating long-term relationships with his clients that allow him to assist from the initial business planning stages all of the way through designing and executing a final exit strategy for business owners. Chase assists his clients with structuring a variety of transactions which occur throughout the life of a business, from the admission or withdrawal of partners, purchases and assignments of business interests, sales and purchases of real estate and other commercial assets and protecting intellectual property rights.
Prior to working with the firm, Chase attended Baylor University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, a Master of Business Administration and his Juris Doctorate. While at Baylor Law School, Chase helped found the Baylor Business Law Society and competed on a variety of moot court and mock trial teams. He was named champion of both the Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition and the Baylor Academy of the Advocate Mock Trial Competition in St. Andrews, Scotland. During his time in the MBA program Chase met his wife Katie, a fellow MBA student and Baylor Alumnus. Immediately after graduating, Chase practiced in Dallas prior to joining the firm.
Chase has always had a passion for serving the community and people of Waco. Since returning home in 2018, Chase has been appointed to the City of Waco Building Standards Committee and the City of Waco Planning Commission. Chase and Katie are both active members of Harris Creek Baptist Church in McGregor and are heavily involved with the Heart of Texas Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), where Katie serves as a member of the leadership board.
In his spare time, Chase enjoys playing golf, traveling, spending time with family & friends, eating good food and, most importantly, cheering on the Baylor Bears. As a life-long fan of Baylor’s various athletic programs, Chase enjoys nothing more than a weekend of tailgating and hanging out with friends while watching the Baylor Bears win
